Academic studies & further education
Apart from project planning and realization, IfaS aims to provide access to knowledge with regard to a sustainable design of material systems at the national and international level. Therefore, IfaS offers an education portfolio in the field of International Material Flow Management (MFM) that expands continually.
With the seminary “Travelling University” practice oriented studies were included in the diploma study courses of Environmental Campus Birkenfeld (ECB) in 1999.
In 2004, the English language Master Program „International Material Flow Management“ (MSc.) started at ECB. With the support of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the education project was exported to Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Japan. Since 2006, more than 50 students from more than 20 countries are studying the German-Japanese Dual Master Degree Program. The rising request for international material flow managers is the reason for building up a new Dual Master Degree Program IMAT with Akdeniz University Antalya in Turkey. This Dual Degree will take in an additional 30 students per year starting from winter semester 2009.
