Promotion of resistance in corona times

The INTERREG project AROMA (“Organisation of the regional food supply for a better nutrition”) is an innovative project of local food supply in the out-of-home catering of the Greater Region (Saarland, RLP, Luxembourg, Lorraine and Wallonia). The aim is to create a cross-border network of actors in the agri-food sector in order to promote the supply of high-quality local products. The crisis triggered by the COVID-19 virus has particularly affected the food sector. For example, many citizens have rediscovered local products. This has shown that approaches such as AROMA’s are essential to address the food sector’s lack of resilience in the 21st century. In this context, the AROMA project aims to make the food sector in the Greater Region more cooperative, including by supporting players in the out-of-home catering sector. In this way, the project makes an important contribution to a local, sustainable and resilient food supply chain at the heart of Europe.
