• IfaS - Institut for ideas

The Institute for Applied Material Flow Management (IfaS) is a higher research institute of Trier University of Applied Sciences located at Environmental Campus Birkenfeld (ECB).

  • 10 years IfaS

A decade has passed. A decade filled with impressions, projects, business trips and fascinating people. It has been ten years that IfaS has worked towards the optimization of material flow systems.

This anniversary brochure is dedicated to all those individuals. [Please download here].

International Project Management

The development of new business models integrating climate protection, resource efficiency, and the strengthening of local economies, is the challenge handled by our department worldwide. Therefore, our task is to introduce knowledge and technology transfer, adapt technical concepts to local needs, develop innovative financing concepts, and support the implementation of projects. Our principle is: "Discover Potentials - Optimize Processes - Create Regional Added Value." Based on this principle we are conducting within the framework of material flow management and zero-emission-concepts detailed material flow analyses which form the basis for holistic system optimization, the presentation of energy potentials, and the calculation of emission reduction potentials. Targeted trainings abroad and in Germany for international decision makers facilitate the initiation and realization of innovations in developing and emerging countries. Through the close collaboration with companies we cannot only offer efficient technical solutions to our worldwide partners but also facilitate companies' market entry abroad. Along with export promotion, companies also take advantage of other innovative services: Carbon Footprinting and Carbon Trading help companies to sustain their businesses in Germany. Through the realization of numerous projects we are continuously expanding our global partner network.
